The strange and imaginative Instante juxtaposes one man’s stressful urban reality with the itinerant climbing lifestyle of another. Using a series of weird dream sequences, director Diego Delmar progressively enmeshes the two stories.

An early scene abounds with vibrant trance music and unusual cinematography that speeds up, slows down and warps images. It portrays a man clad in black joyfully dancing, running and ascending rocks in a gorgeous limestone boulder field (Castle Hill, in New Zealand) as if he’s discovering climbing for the first time. This character could represent either of the men, or both, and their mutual discovery is the meaning of play through climbing.

A fictive, artistic film, Instante isn’t climbing porn on the other hand offers a fresh perspective on the lifestyle. The film celebrates the flow of movement and the rhythm of the natural world. Delmar aptly describes it as “experience cinema”; as I watched, my body certainly twitched to climb.

A man finds himself disturbed from bombardment of information and tries to escape from the mental traps of the city into the world of nature.

At the same time, a traveler is on his way to know himself more deeply. On the road he meets with differrent climbers from around the world challenging rocks in never before seen corners of the world.

Both characters relate on their dreams as they try to understand the act of playing and the influence of their surroundings over them.

Toca la Roca Festival - OAXACA

Una vez más se llevó a cabo el Toca la Roca Festival, ahora en la ciudad de Oaxaca en el muro de escalada de Mondragón.

Con la presencia de distintos escaladores de Oaxaca y la agradable sorpresa de tener tantos niños que desean escalar en esta ciudad. El futuro de la escalada ciertamente podría estar en Oaxaca ya que en cualquier momento estos chamacos podrían estar convirtiéndose en verdaderos mutantes de la escalada.

Como parte del festival se llevó a cabo una competencia como nunca antes se había visto en México.

Sin zonas de aislamiento los participantes tuvieron cuatro horas para escalar la mayor cantidad de bloques posibles. Esto fue todo un éxito ya que pudimos lograr nuestro objetivo: que la gente juege y se divierta. Al terminar se proyectó la película "Instante" y sorprendió a los expectadores, quienes comentaban nunca antes haber visto una película de escalda mexicana de tanta calidad.

Toca la Roca - San Cristobal, Chiapas

Se llevó a cabo el Toca la Roca Festival en el zocalo de San Cristobal de las Casas en Chiapas, Juntando una audiencia internacional de más de 500 personas quienes se reunieron en la plaza Catedral el 10 de enero del 2009.

Un evento único en donde distintas nacionalidades de distintas edades y rangos socioeconómicos pudieron disfrutar de la película de Instante al aire libre. Uniendo culturas y credos Instante nos planteo una nueva forma de experimentar la naturaleza al plantearnos un desafio dentro de ella.

¡Nuestro primer evento del Toca la Roca Festival se llevó a cabo con éxito! en Tacaná Chiapas

Durante cuatro días escaladores de Chiapas, D.F., Zacatecas, Tabasco, Jalisco, Canadá, Estados Unidos, Alemania y Guatemala pudieron disfrutar de las distintas escaladas que ofrecen las faldas del volcán de Tacaná. Conforme los días pasaban, nuevas rocas eran descubiertas y escaladas.

Finalmente llegó el día de Año nuevo y para festejarlo se estrenó la película Instante en el Zócalo de Unión Juárez al aire libre, cubriendo una audiencia de más de 150 personas entre escaladores y no-escaladores logrando que la película fuera del gusto de distintas clases sociales y diferentes edades.

Por la noche comenzó la convivencia a través de la música de DJ Mejican Lost. Los tequilas Huizache amenizaban la situación con su exquisito sabor 100 % agave. Además los VJ’s Mexcalina y Macushi presentaron una mezcla visual al ritmo de la música minimal. La gente del pueblo se acercaba a escuchar esa música tan novedosa para sus oídos.

Toca la Roca Festival

Toca la Roca is a Rock Climbing Festival that will be on tour around diferent cities, and rock climbing areas of North America. With the exclusive exhibition of "Instante" the new movie by KnocK Productions directed by Diego Delmar that took 6 years in the making, and will be released this next december 2008.

The festival will have rock climbing games, slackline games, and luck games. Anybody can win great prizes at Toca la Roca Festival.

Also live set from the musicians of the Soundtrack of the movie, and fiesta with a vj collective.
